Get a UK License for the Community to transport goods by road to or through the EU, Liechtenstein and Switzerland, and the rules you have to follow.

Eligibility
To obtain a UK Licence for the Community, you need to possess either a standard international vehicle operator licence for Great Britain or a standard international vehicle operator licence for Northern Ireland.
Where you can use the licences
UK Licenses for the Community can be applied for 27 EU states as well as three more countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.
Apply for licences
Call DVSA get a licence. You need your vehicle operator licence number.
Community UK licenses are valid until your operator’s license five-yearly renewal date.
Fees
If you have a standard worldwide lorry operator licence, UK Licences for the Community are free of charge.
Rules for using the licences
You are limited to licences issued to you. You can’t transfer them to a different company or operator.
The license covers:
1. an office copy ones house – it should be stored at your primary office to be check by authorities
2. Certified copies—every car approved by your regular international vehicle operator licence can be officially copied.
Certified licenses copies don’t pertain to any given car.
What to do when you make journeys
When moving items in or through EU nations, your vehicle for the Community must have a certified copy of your UK Licence.
If you are moving items using a different kind of permit, you should also have a certified copy.
When asked to, the driver must present it to any traffic officer.
